Professional Development
Professional development took on many forms at Fountaindale Elementary School. Teachers were involved in bi-weekly professional development known as Classroom Focused Instructional Plan (CFIP). These meetings were teacher led once a month, with teachers creating the agenda and leading the professional development based on their team needs. Once a month the Student Achievement Specialists along with administrative team created the agenda for the professional development. Following the CFIP meetings a follow-up was sent out to all of the staff summarizing the meetings and providing information for the upcoming meetings.
Professional development was also provided through the Teacher Incentive Fund Grant. Twice per month teachers would meet their TIF team or their goals team for professional development. Topics included unpacking the Charlotte Danielson observation tool, Understanding by Design, portfolio work, goal setting and sharing, as well as professional conversations around peer observations. Teachers frequently provided input into these professional development opportunities, to best meet their own personal and professional goals.
